Since
independence development is the debate of the nation especially for the
Northeast India. The concept development is very complex in nature, it change
with the evolution of time. From the perspective of social science the concept
of development is to get access to various basic necessities may be in the
forms of commodities or services or rights. This book includes the

approach through agriculture and entrepreneurship, women empowerment through

About the Editors
Dr. Khumukcham Tombisana Singh
is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Human Rights, S. Kula Woman’s
College, and Post-Doctoral Fellow, ICSSR, New Delhi, has to his credit many
research articles in reputed journals and has also contributed book chapters. Some
of the major publications to his credit are: The Role of Women in Manipur
(2012), Formation of Government in Manipur (1947-1984) (2017). He was also
served as the Project Co-coordinator of the Women and Child Aberration Society.
He has served as a Volunteer of the Natural and Human Resource Development Organization.
He is the member of the Human Rights Education Cell and also different
Committees of College. He has participated and presented papers in various seminars
and other academic floras at the state, regional, national and International
level. He has also got Best Teacher Award in the year 2011 by the Hijam Irabot
Memorial Charitable Trust at the State Level.
Dr. Rajeev Lourembam is an
Assistant Professor at the Department of Mass Communication, AIMT College; he
has two years of teaching in the field of Mass and Communication studies and
development. He contributed
many research articles in reputed journals and book chapter. He has
participated seminar and conference at National and International level.
